Roanoke is a role-playing game based on the mysterious disappearance of the Roanoke colonists between 1587 and 1590. The game is set during the three years when the colony vanished from the face of Roanoke Island. Through the game, you will play out the colony’s events over those three years and, ultimately, determine the fate of the missing colonists.

Roanoke is based on the innovative Wushu game system created by Daniel Bayn. The game’s intuitive rules reward players for coming up with descriptive narration for the actions of their characters. The result is a depiction of early colonial America that is strongly influenced by wire-fu action movies such as Brotherhood of the Wolf.

Because we know that the Roanoke colonists are destined to vanish from the pages of history, the game also includes a unique doom mechanic, which forces players to choose between temporary gains for their character and the well-being of the colony as a whole.

The game also includes seven sinister antagonists for the gamemaster to use in the game. There’s a royal conspiracy, undead Vikings, monsters from H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos, super-powered cannibals, and more!

This game is the perfect recipe for a great night of blazing black-powder action and historical horror.
